Day 1: Nairobi – Lake Nakuru National Park

Depart from Nairobi and drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. "Nakuru" means "Dust or Dusty Place" in the Maasai language. The park, established in 1961, is located close to Nakuru town and has expanded over the years from the lake and surrounding mountainous vicinity to encompass large savannahs. Arrive at noon for lunch, then head out for a short afternoon game drive.

Lake Nakuru is one of the Rift Valley lakes at an elevation of 1,754 m above sea level. Once famous for its vast flamingo populations, it is also home to eastern black rhinos and southern white rhinos, warthogs, baboons, giraffes, and over 400 bird species. In the evening, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara

Rise early for a morning game drive within Lake Nakuru National Park before breakfast. After breakfast, depart for the iconic Masai Mara Game Reserve to the south. Masai Mara is effectively the northern continuation of the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania and is world-renowned for its exceptional wildlife, including the Big Five and the spectacular Great Wildebeest Migration.

Drive with your packed lunch and arrive at the Mara in the late afternoon. Check in to your accommodation, then enjoy an evening game drive before dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 3: Masai Mara – Full Day Game Drive

After breakfast, spend a full day exploring the vast Masai Mara with packed lunch boxes. The reserve offers a classic safari experience with the Big Five present (rhino rare), many big cats including lion, leopard and cheetah, and the wildebeest migration. Being approximately a third of the size of the Serengeti, it makes for a manageable and highly rewarding game viewing destination.

Go out for both a morning and afternoon game drive, returning to your lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Masai Mara – Nairobi
